Almond paste
Mon, 08/02/2010 - 11:12
When a cake recipe asks for almond paste, does it mean marzipan or just well grinded almond? If not, how could I make it myself? Thanks
Every information would be very useful

Hello Pastry-
I know this is late and you have probably figured this out but I saw that no one answered the question. Your recipe is referring to marzipan. Well ground almond is usually called almond flour or almond meal. You can buy almond paste in the baking section of your grocery store. It's usually in a can or a plastic tube sort of like polenta but smaller.
Hope this helps
