My best friend recently discovered that she is allergic to all things soy. Is there anybody else out there who is in the same boat?

No, but I was just reading in Michael Pollan's In Defense of Food that "The soybean...contains a whole assortment of "antinutrients"--compounds that actually block the body's absorption of vitamins and minerals, interfere with the hormonal system, and prevent the body from breaking down the proteins in the soy itself"

Apparently the only soy product that is health to eat is tofu.

I actually know a lot of people who are allergic to soy, including my mother. It and gluten allergies are also prevalent in people who have chronic lyme disease.
