And besides spending time with my family and friends, I love shopping,TCU football, 50s advertising and collecting antiques.
How long have you been a Daring Baker/Daring Cook and what’s your favorite thing about being in the group(s) so far?
I’ve been a Daring Baker since April ’08 and a Daring Cook since it’s inauguration in May ’09! I love the diversity of the group and how we all change up the recipe just enough to make it our own!
What’s your favorite kitchen gadget?
I love my Microplanes… I have two already and plan on getting the one for shaving chocolate!
How about your favorite kitchen appliance?
Definitely my Ice Blue KitchenAid Stand Mixer. Her name’s Bertha and I pink-puffy-heart her.
Are you known for making a certain dish or dessert? If so, what is it?
If there’s a party or a get-together, I’m normally asked to make guacamole. It’s not a secret recipe or anything… I guess it’s just my magic touch.
Where is your favorite vacation (holiday) destination?
Gosh… I absolutely love Disney World (so much so, that I worked there during college). But, I also love heading out to Santa Fe. My family’s spent many vacations out there and it almost feels like home.
Reading any good books lately? Which ones?!
I finished the Outlander series not too long ago and totally fell in love with it. And the other day, I started The Friday Night Knitting Club… which I’m really enjoying so far!
How long have you been blogging? Do you like it? What’s your favorite post you’ve written?
I’ve been blogging for over a year and a half now. I absolutely love it because I’ve met so many different people and made many new friends. I don’t know if I have one favorite, but I love when Dorie comments on my TWD posts… it’s really special!
What is the ultimate comfort food to you?
My grandmother’s Broccoli-Rice Casserole or Corn Soup & Fry Bread.
Which season (Winter, Summer, Spring, Fall) is your favorite.. why?
Without a doubt, Fall. The weather is absolutely perfect… not hot, but not cold and it’s filled with Halloween and football!!
Other than cooking and/or baking.. what hobbies do you enjoy?
I love reading, photography, scrapbooking and gardening in the summertime. I also plan on learning to play the fiddle someday soon.
