Tiramisu - February 2010

I only got a chance to put my tiramisu together on the reveal date because I have had a very busy month .But better late than never!

I have made tiramisu a number of times in the past, which has included making mascarpone. In the past I have used Christine Manfield’s recipe in Paramount Desserts (still just about my favourite dessert recipe book of all time!). The challenge recipe was a bit easier, I thought; at least in so far as I didn’t have to go out and buy citric acid! I love zabaglione, so it was great to set it incorporated into the challenge and luckily there was an unopened bottle of Marsala in the cupboard!

The mini-tiramisus I made were popular with my husband, son and dinner guest and I thought that they were very yummy too. It’s not something I am likely to make very often, as it is very rich and I try to avoid creamy desserts, but it was still a fun challenge. Thanks Aparna and Deeba!
