Hi! I’m Michele and I live in Northern California with my husband and our many animals.

I spend much of my time cooking vegetarian food, baking, taking pictures, listening to music, reading, and swimming. I love to travel and some of my favorite destinations so far are: India, Newfoundland, Kauai, Italy, Ireland, and Vancouver Island. I started my blog just over a year ago, and though it took me awhile, I’m really starting to enjoy the whole online sharing experience. I’ve met a bunch of really neat people through blogging.

And on to the questions…

What is the ultimate comfort food to you?

The ultimate comfort food for me is cereal. If my husband is away and I don’t have anyone else to cook for I’m quite happy eating cereal for three meals a day. And, any kind will do—Rice Krispies, CoCo Puffs, Granola, Special K; I like them all.

You’ve had a rough week. We feel your pain. How do you relax after a rough week?

If I’ve had a rough week I’ll curl up in bed with a bunch of cats, music on the stereo, and a stack of books. Or, if it’s summer, I’ll go swimming.

What’s your favorite cookbook for desserts/baking? What’s your favorite cookbook for savory/cooking?

I have many “favorite” cookbooks—it really depends what I’m in the mood for. Currently, I’m really interested in obscure cookbooks from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

You’ve just won $5000.00!!! But it comes with some stipulations.. you can’t spend it on your kids or your significant other! This is all YOURS. What would you spend it on? (we’re also going to fantasize that you have no bills whatsoever! Woo!! Hehee)

If I won $5,000 I would call a travel agent ASAP and book a major trip.

What is your favorite cooking/food related magazine? Why?

My favorite food magazine currently is Gourmet. It’s become much more vegetarian friendly.

How long have you been a Daring Baker/Daring Cook and what’s your favorite thing about being in the group(s) so far?

I’ve been a Daring Baker/Cook since about the beginning of the year. My favorite part of the group is getting to meet new people.

The Martha – Angel of Domestication or Minion of Evil? Why?

Martha Stewart? Love her!! I don’t watch her on TV, but I do read her books and magazines. She has some fantastic recipes.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure is watching old BBC shows online (I don’t have TV). I love Black Books, Keeping Up Appearances, Are You Being Served… I can watch the episodes over and over.

What did you eat for dinner last night? Did you prepare it or someone else?

Last night for dinner I had crackers, hummus, and peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate.

Cheers!
