I was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec by Italian parents and now live in Laval, Quebec (the city right off the island of Montreal)
with my wonderful husband of 26 years and my two wonderful daughters, Camelia and Michaela, ages 20 and 16 and our three cats, Sheba, Dante and Bella.
Ten years ago, after 25 years in the work force, I left my stressful and busy career in Information Technology to take care of my family and haven’t looked back. I now work from home, blog, write articles, cook and bake to my heart’s content. My dream of attending cooking courses in Italy became a reality in the last three years – once in Umbria and Tuscany and the second time in the hills of the Chianti region overlooking the vineyards – a scenery too breathtaking to describe.
If you have a blog, what is your blog name and for how long have you been blogging?
My blog’s name is My Cookbook Addiction and I have been blogging for almost two years!
When and why did you join the Daring Bakers?
I joined the Daring Bakers in December 2007. I read about the Daring Bakers in Ivonne’s blog, Cream Puffs in Venice and thought it would be fun to be challenged with a different recipe each month and learn new cooking techniques.
What’s the best part about being a Daring Baker?
Honestly, the monthly challenges are always fun but I really enjoy being part of this Baking community. I have met such wonderful and creative people.
Who’s your favourite baker/chef?
This is a tough question because I don’t have just one favourite baker/chef so I will list just a few.
Favourite bakers: Carol Field, Gina De Palma, Sherry Yard, Nick Malgieri and Marcy Goldman.
Favourite chefs: Mario Batali, Lidia Bastianich, Jamie Oliver, Micol Negrin
What’s your favourite cookbook?
My bookshelves are so packed with such wonderful cookbooks that it’s difficult to choose a favourite.
If you were stuck on a desert island and could only bring one dessert with you, what would it be?
The desserts I choose to eat always reflect the mood I am in. If I crave a comfort dessert it would definitely be apple pie or something sweet – chocolate cake without a doubt, but no matter what mood I’m in I am always ready and willing to eat Crème Caramel. So that’s the dessert I would bring with me.
