I am a French food writer from Montreal, Canada. Mom with a 3 year old who is going through…
…his peak picky period, so basically I cook and watch the food sit there (my husband is 42 and almost as picky as my son, heaven save me). I work mostly for ad agencies and some major manufacturers, plus I have been the ghost writer on 2-3 cooking books. I am presently working on a book about kids and nutrition at the request of a publisher interested in signing me, which would be my 1st book as an “author”.

Favourite gadget=microplane. Favourite appliance=food pro
Are you known for making a certain dish or dessert? If so, what is it?
I’m really good at tagines of all kind. My paella is not bad either. I know NOTHING about desserts, here’s trying.
Is there any recipe and/or technique that we haven’t covered yet that you’d really like to make/learn?
I still have to learn as I go on this group.
Do you have a favorite movie? Book? Genre of music? Actor? Actress?
Movie=Gigi, Book=Pride and prejudice by Austen. Music = folk-rock Actor=Al Pacino (the early stuff, he’s been baaad lately), Actress=Jodie Foster.

Summer. Just love the heat and the sun.

Surfing the web, swimming, reading ALL the time, driving around the countryside with my family and dog, researching next vacation

Starting in January, the blog will be food-centric and possibly related to my experiences as a new author.

I don’t bake! Actually, this is a way to get me going. Favourite cookbook (these days) is from Quebec: Stefano Faita, Entre cuisine et quincaillerie. I have built myself a database with 10,000 recipes so I just do a random search whenever I wish to cook something new.
What’s your favorite flower and/or plant?
Tulips and lilac trees
Do you have a favorite local restaurant? If so, why is it your favorite and what kind of food is served there?
I have a toddler at home, these days we hang out at pizza joints and stuff. Hoping we can soon enjoy trendier establishments as a family. My favourite foods are progressive French, thai and Indian (plus I am developing a serious addiction to Mexican).
Who taught you how to cook and/or bake?
My mom a little but I’m basically self-taught.
What’s your favorite holiday and why?
Christmas, I love everything: the lights, the tree, the smile on people’s faces, the presents (!) and time to laze around in front of the fireplace

I go shopping for jewelry and handbags on eBay. Oy.
Where is your favorite vacation (holiday) destination?
Caribbean for now (because of the 3-yr-old), will be heading again to Europe as soon as he can appreciate it, French or Italy 1st

Ricardo. I have been following it for years, recipes are easy and ingredients always available.
Do you have a food addiction?
Diet Coke with a lemon slice. Not haute cuisine, not good for you, full of the junk I avoid so much everywhere else. Help!
What did you eat for dinner last night? Did you prepare it or someone else?
Celery root and apple soup with Oka cheese tartines, espresso and banana. Homemade soup.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Bread!!! Cannot resist it in all its forms, especially with cold unsalted butter.

Kitchen. Big time.

No such thing as B&W. But the Minion of Impossibility with evil consequences for women’s self-worth, definitely.

Only one is Next Food Network Star. In the past, watched Next Iron Chef and Jamie Oliver’s 14… or 15?

Love vanilla (which is not a spice but…) and cumin.
